Job summary

BMCHS seeks a Recovery Specialist at the Brockton Site CSS to engage patients in recovery, develop personalized plans, and connect them to community resources. You will document interactions and support ongoing recovery, working with a multidisciplinary team to promote holistic care.

The role requires an Associate’s degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years in healthcare/substance use, strong communication skills, and a commitment to respectful, non-judgmental care.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent) plus minimum 2 years in healthcare/substance use field.
  • May waive experience with a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, e-mail, and internet.

Responsibilities

  • Engage patients in a residential setting and explain recovery services.
  • Assist patients in development and implementation of recovery plans with SUD/MH/dual diagnoses.
  • Provide recovery information, referrals, and linkages to services and community resources.
  • Provide ongoing support and follow up to support recovery and healthy lifestyle.
  • Provide weekly peer recovery support groups.
  • Use motivational interviewing to help patients identify and prioritize needs.
  • Gather and share information on health topics relevant to the population served.
  • Document patient encounters and resource development in electronic medical record.
  • Adhere to hospital standards and privacy policies.
  • Conform to hospital policies to support mission and goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to RESPECT standards.
