Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Peer Specialist to help individuals develop recovery skills and access community supports. You will build therapeutic relationships, support treatment plans, and assist with coordinating care and transportation.

The role emphasizes peer-to-peer mentoring, advocacy, and coaching to empower clients on their recovery journey within our community-based services.

Qualifications

• Must identify as a current or former consumer of mental health or substance use services, or in recovery.
• At least 1 year of direct experience with the mental health system as a consumer of services.
• Completion of state-approved peer support training within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop personalized treatment plans with individuals and families.
• Coordinate with referral sources and guardians on progress and transitions.
• Provide transportation to Recovery Supports and community services.
• Accompany clients to appointments when permitted.
• Offer crisis intervention and facilitate group education sessions.
