Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Sedalia, MO, seeks a Certified Peer Specialist to support individuals in their recovery journey. You will help develop personalized treatment plans, connect clients to community resources, and assist with scheduling and transportation to Recovery Supports and services.

The role focuses on empowerment, advocacy, and resilience within a compassionate team. The position emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with families and guardians, and adherence to CARF

Qualifications

• Willingness to self-identify as a current or former consumer of mental health or substance use services.
• Minimum of one year direct, personal experience with the mental health system as a primary consumer of services.
• Completion of state-approved Certified Peer Support training and related trainings within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop personalized treatment plans with clients addressing their needs.
• Maintain regular communication with referral sources and guardians about progress and planning.
• Schedule appointments and provide transportation to Recovery Supports and community services.
• Assist clients in accessing medical services and document all services per state and CARF standards.
• Offer crisis intervention and participate in group education sessions as scheduled.
