Job summary

Advocacy Unlimited., Inc. seeks a Recovery Support Specialist to engage adults using shared life experience and recovery-based methods within the ACT for Recovery team. You will mentor and motivate clients toward personal recovery goals.

Using illness management techniques and person-centered practices, you will support education on client rights and provide guidance on recovery and wellness, with potential transportation assistance and documentation in medical records.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in mental health or substance use recovery fields.
• Substitutions allowed: six months as Recovery Support Specialist Trainee.
• Preferred: experience with adults in community settings with severe mental health and co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

• Guide clients in defining personal recovery goals and plans.
• Support clients in pursuing employment, education, and community involvement.
• Explain client rights and recovery tools to clients.
• Provide transportation and accompany clients to appointments when needed.
• Document in medical records per policies and procedures; assist with data entry.
