Job summary

Options for Southern Oregon is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide peer support services in the alcohol and drug dependencies recovery program. You will use Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) and participate in on-the-job training and supervision.

The role supports clients, partners, and the community in reaching recovery goals. The position involves working both in the office and in community settings, with typical hours Monday–Friday and emphasis on individualized recovery support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; understanding of population served.
• Self-identify as an individual in recovery from a substance use disorder.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with clients with addictions.
• Interest and ability to become certified as a Peer Support Specialist - Adult Mental Health.
• Proficiency with Word and MS Office; able to use email and electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a peer role model and advocate; provide information and peer support in outpatient settings.
• Work in office and in the community to assist peers in regaining independence and recovery mastery.
