Job summary

Polk County is seeking a Recovery Peer to use lived experience to help clients transform their lives. You will meet with clients in community settings, assist with appointments, and support recovery activities to improve engagement and quality of life.

The role follows SAMHSA’s wellness framework and emphasizes hope, empowerment, and social participation within residential and in-home contexts. Bilingual Spanish is preferred, with a 5% differential.

Qualifications

• Hold a Peer Support Specialist certificate with a specialty in Addictions at time of appointment.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred with a 5% pay differential.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients in community settings to provide recovery support.
• Assist individuals in accessing appointments and participating in activities.
• Support skill-building and socialization, including recovery meetings.
