Job summary

Thrive Behavioral Health in Warwick, RI is seeking a dedicated Peer Specialist for the Adult Substance Program. The role supports clients across emergency services, outpatient, and community settings, promoting recovery, coping skills, and self-advocacy. You will help build support networks and participate in educational activities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Must have completed and passed a RI-approved Peer Specialist certification.
Minimum 12 months of relevant work or volunteer experience within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

Provide direct mental health and recovery support in multiple settings.
Model recovery processes and teach coping strategies.
Engage individuals at risk with developmentally appropriate recovery education.
Assist in orientation for new clients and support group activities.
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care.
Link clients to community resources and peer supports.
