Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) to support individuals experiencing serious mental illness. You will provide group and individual training, counseling, and advocacy to promote recovery and community integration.

Responsibilities include coordinating services, assisting with Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP), and working across clinic, peer program, or community settings to meet needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPS certification through the Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network required.
• Two years of experience with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and/or addictive disease required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider Card required.
• CARES and WRAP certifications preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual training and counseling.
• Offer service coordination and community linkage support.
• Advocacy support to meet individual needs.
• Assist with completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP).
• Work in clinic, peer program, or community setting.
• Support individuals with serious mental illness and addiction challenges.
