Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to work with individuals experiencing serious mental illness, providing recovery-focused training, counseling, and service coordination. The CPS supports WRAP development, advocacy, and community linkage in clinic, peer programs, or community settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Current certification as Peer Specialist (CPS) through the GA DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network is required
• Two years of experience with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and/or addictive disease is required
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider Card is required
• CARES and WRAP certifications is preferred
• Bachelor's degree is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides group and/or individual training and counseling for people with serious mental illness
• Performs service coordination, community linkage, and advocacy support to meet individual needs
• Assists with WRAP development and execution
• May work in a clinic, peer program, or community setting
