Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) to support individuals with serious mental illness, serving as a recovery role model and providing group or individual training and counseling. The CPS collaborates with care teams, coordinates services, and helps with WRAP planning in clinic, peer program, or community settings.

Required: high school diploma or GED, current CPS certification in Georgia, and at least two years of SPMI/addiction experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current CPS certification through Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network required.
  • At least two years of experience with SPMI or addictive disease.
  • BLS Health Care Provider card required.
  • CARES and WRAP certifications preferred.

CPS provides group and/or individual training and counseling, as well as service coordination, support for community linkage, and advocacy support to meet individual needs. Assists with completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP).
