Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester's Family and Community Services seeks a Peer Mentor to provide peer support and education to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. This role emphasizes engagement and trauma-informed care, working with staff to help clients build recovery plans.

The position requires a HS Diploma, a valid NYS driver’s license, and a Certified Peer Recovery Advocate certification or provisional certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License. Certified Peer Recovery Advocate certification or provisional certification required.
• Experience running peer or recovery support groups; lived experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provides individual and group support for substance use disorder clients to develop recovery.
• Transports clients to appointments and activities.
• Leads peer-led educational sessions on recovery principles, spirituality, and community resources.
• Meets with clients to support recovery planning and motivation.
• Completes necessary paperwork in compliance with agency standards.
• Participates in agency meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Upholds trauma-informed care and aligns with the agency's mission and values.
• Other duties as assigned.
