Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes is hiring a Peer Support Specialist to mentor and advocate for participants in county drug treatment and family treatment courts. This full-time role offers meaningful work in a nonprofit dedicated to social justice and recovery support.

You will meet clients where they are, help set recovery goals, coordinate services, and assist with court appearances while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; well-rooted in own recovery.
• Minimum of five years experience with substance use and mental health populations.
• Knowledge of administrative record keeping and filing; HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in all stages of recovery and WRAP planning.
• Meet participants countywide at homes, shelters, jail, hospital, and service locations.
• Help establish healthy social connections and life skills.
• Transport or escort participants to court appearances, referrals, meetings.
• Assist participants with issues affecting recovery.
• Maintain communication with supervisors and care coordinators.
• Coordinate Alumni Group activities and post-graduate engagement.
• Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement efforts.
• Complete required agency and program reports in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
