Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes seeks a Peer Support Specialist to mentor and advocate for participants in Drug Treatment Court and Family Treatment Court across Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, Cayuga and Yates Counties. You will support recovery, coordinate services, and help clients build lasting life skills in a compassionate, confidential environment.

This full-time role requires a High School Diploma/GED and a preference for at least five years' experience in substance use and mental health

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, well-rooted in own recovery.
• Minimum five years of experience working with substance use and mental health community preferred.
• Knowledge of administrative record keeping and HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in recovery by creating a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP).
• Meet with participants countywide at community residences, shelters, jail, hospital, or other locations.
• Establish healthy social connections and life skills in a safe, sober setting.
• Transport and escort participants to court appearances and referrals as needed.
• Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor and CCFL coordinators.
• Coordinate or support Alumni Group activities and ongoing engagement after graduation.
• Participate in staff meetings and Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.
