Job summary

Catholic Charities of Herkimer County is seeking a RISE Peer Advocate to support individuals and families on their recovery journey. You will help navigate treatment options, connect to resources, and facilitate peer-support meetings in a compassionate, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years with diverse populations, and a NY driver’s license. The role offers fulltime hours, daytime schedules, and benefits including health coverage and paid

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience working with diverse populations.
• Valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals and families navigate treatment options and connect with community resources.
• Provide substance use intervention services using evidence-based practices and programs.
• Schedule and facilitate peer-support recovery meetings and groups.
• Help individuals develop, maintain, and self-monitor their Recovery Plans.
• Model effective coping skills and encourage peers to learn new strategies.
• Build positive relationships that promote growth, recovery and independence.
• Collaborate with community agencies and organizations to promote services and referrals.
• Maintain documentation, reports, and evaluations for OASAS and funding sources.
