Job summary

Providence Center CCBHC Peer Recovery Specialist with Care New England Health System provides peer support services, advocates for clients, and offers written and experiential information to promote recovery. Qualifications

• High School or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of lived experience with substance use and/or mental health disorders.
• Experience in accessing community resources (housing, medical, financial, etc.).
• Experience in behavioral and/or medical health preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection and insured automobile.
• Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification or must obtain CPRS within one year of hire.
• Strong knowledge of community resources and systems, including housing, education, employment, and healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess client needs using a holistic approach across medical, vocational, educational, spiritual, social, recreational, financial, and recovery-focused domains.
• Provide services to an assigned caseload with in-person contacts in office and community settings.
• Provide peer-based support and interventions for symptoms, coping skills, medications/side effects, employment supports, and relapse prevention.
• Collaborate with clients and care teams to develop and implement client-centered care plans.
• Coordinate and deliver services to promote recovery and self-advocacy.
• Assist clients in accessing personal, agency, and community-based supports and resources.
