Job summary

The Providence Center is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist for the Anchor Teen Center (CCBHC) in Providence, RI. You will provide peer support, assist clients in regaining control of their recovery, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address barriers and goals.

Responsibilities include holistic assessments, group facilitation, resource navigation, and documentation compliant with BHDDH and CARF standards. A CPRS certification is required or obtained within one year of hire.

Qualifications

High School or GED preferred.
Minimum 2 years of lived experience with substance use or mental health disorders.
Experience accessing community resources (housing, medical, financial).
Behavioral/medical health experience preferred.
Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess client needs using a holistic approach across medical, vocational, educational, and recovery domains.
Provide peer-based support and interventions for symptoms, coping, meds, employment, and relapse prevention.
Coordinate and deliver services to promote recovery and self-advocacy.
Facilitate access to supports and resources to sustain rehabilitation and recovery.
Lead client-focused groups on life skills, resources, social skills, and advocacy.
Support client–provider communication and navigation of community services.
Maintain professional documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
