Job summary

Brightpathsrecovery is seeking a part-time cook for our Southern California residential program. You'll plan and prepare nutritious, home-style meals for clients, ensuring dietary needs are met and confidentiality is maintained.

A strong emphasis on safety and sanitation guides daily operations. The role requires at least 1 year of cooking experience in institutional or residential settings, a valid California Food Handler Card (ServSafe a plus), and the ability to work 4 hours daily, five days

Qualifications

At least 1 year of cooking experience in institutional, residential, or restaurant settings.
Valid California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain.
Ability to prepare meals in a timely manner for groups.
Must pass a background check and health screening (TB test).

Responsibilities

Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals for residential clients according to the weekly menu.
Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and medical or religious needs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen meeting health standards.
Store, label, and rotate food; track inventory and assist with grocery ordering.
Follow food safety guidelines, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
Interact respectfully with clients and staff, maintaining confidentiality.
Support a recovery-friendly, respectful environment.
