Opportunity Council is hiring a Peer Support Specialist in Bellingham, WA. The role focuses on supporting tenants in Permanent Supportive Housing, coordinating care with case management, and responding to crises as needed. This position runs Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

The ideal candidate has experience in human services, with a preference for homelessness and mental health knowledge. A WA driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in human services preferred.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license with five-year driving history.
• Lived experience of poverty or homelessness or prior participation in Opportunity Council programs is valued.

Responsabilités

• Assist households in identifying services and activities that promote recovery and wellness.
• Help households develop their own wellness and recovery goals.
• Share recovery stories to inspire hope and resilience while maintaining focus on tenants' needs.
