Empowered For Excellence is seeking a Residential Advisor for Recovery Housing on 1st and 2nd shifts in Toledo, Ohio. The role supports a safe, sober living environment and acts as a peer leader among residents, guiding them toward recovery goals with commitment to house policies.

Responsibilities include mentorship, crisis support, and coordination with Recovery Housing staff to ensure compliance and smooth operation of multiple service sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of sobriety.
• High school diploma or GED; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Lived recovery experience with sobriety.
• Peer support, case management, or recovery housing experience.
• Customer service or group facilitation experience.

Recovery Housing - 1st Shift and 2nd Shift Availability

JOB TITLE: Residential Advisor of Recovery Housing

Hours: 1st Shift and 2nd shift position availability

DEPARTMENT: Recovery Housing- 24/7

SUPERVISOR: Recovery Housing Manager

PURPOSE: To support the safe, sober, and structured living environment of the Recovery house by serving as a peer leader and role model. The RA is responsible for fostering a community of accountability, respect, and encouragement among residents. Through guidance, supervision, and adhering to the house policies, the RA helps residents maintain their recovery goals, build life skills, and navigate challenges in early sobriety. The RA also assists with conflict resolution, ensures compliance with house rules, and act as a liaison between residents and staff to promote overall program success.

NATURE OF WORK: Works closely with the Recovery Housing Manages, Recovery Housing Coordinators to monitor and support independent living activities of Residents living in Recovery Housing.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND BEHAVIORS: Abides by agency and/or professional code of ethics. Must be able to communicate effectively and possess the ability to work well both independently and with others in a sensitive, supportive manner that will facilitate the achievement of Residents’ goals. Must act as a role model who presents behaviors that are mature, self-sufficient and socially appropriate. Professional approach to all functions and relationships with all levels of staff, residents, other agencies, and the public. Strong documentation skills. Coordinate and/or assist with housing activities in multiple service sites both within the agency and in the community.

We require a minimum of 3 years of sobriety

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED and extended sobriety required. CPR/First aid

Lived experience in recovery, with an extended period of sobriety. Peer support or case management, sober living or recovery housing, customer service or group facilitation.

OTHER: Must have a valid and clean driving record along with current auto insurance.
