Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a Peer Support Specialist, Behavioral Health Urgent Care, to help individuals achieve personal goals using lived experience and recovery-focused methods.

You will support treatment and recovery, document encounters in the EHR, participate in crisis planning, and coordinate with community resources. A CPSS certification and a high school diploma are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health or substance use is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with adults with substance use disorder.
• Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Share lived experience to support treatment and recovery.
• Model recovery values and promote wellness.
• Assist individuals with crisis planning and relapse prevention.
• Document encounters in the electronic health record and maintain progress notes.
• Provide transportation or arrange transportation for individuals.
