Job summary

CarePlus NJ Inc is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist in Passaic County, NJ. This on-site, full-time position offers a supportive team environment with opportunities to collaborate with Case Managers, Clinicians, and Prescribers to create personalized recovery plans.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalency; two years of recovery principles experience and at least two years in active recovery. Training and benefits are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency; associate's degree or above preferred.
• Two years of experience in recovery principles to support individuals' health and wellness.
• Active recovery from a substance use disorder for at least two years.

Responsibilities

• Attend mandated training to delineate peer role functions and responsibilities.
• Develop a Recovery Plan in collaboration with the individual, case manager, clinician, or prescriber.
• Educate individuals on navigating treatment, social services, and recovery supports.
• Provide recovery support services based on the individual's needs and preferences.
• Collaborate with the case manager to ensure engagement in services for up to a year.
• Reinforce and reassure that recovery is possible, leveraging strengths and resources.
