Job summary

Recovery Innovations in Columbus, OH is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I to provide peer support and recovery training to individuals receiving services. You will assist in creating a recovery environment and advocate for participants’ rights and needs.

The role requires completion of Peer Employment Training to obtain certification as a Peer Support Specialist and a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus lived experience with mental health or substance use services.

Qualifications

• Peer Employment Training and certification as Peer Support Specialist required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use services.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership.
• Teach recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
• Model hope, self-advocacy and responsibility to support recovery goals.
• Assist in developing natural supports and community living.
• Coordinate with the clinical team to arrange services.
• Complete required clinical documentation.
