Job summary

LifeWorks NW is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist for Enhanced Adult Mental Health Services at our Beaverton site. You will provide recovery-oriented supports, engage with clients, and help them access community resources to promote stability and independence.

The role emphasizes client-centered planning, advocacy, and collaboration with a team to support individuals with SPMI in outpatient and community settings. Beaverton-based, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Self-identifies as a current or former recipient of mental health services.
• Holds a Peer Support Specialist certification from a State-approved training program.
• May be beneficial to have prior experience working with SPMI adults or a nursing background.
• Must be available on an on-call basis, evenings, weekends and possible nights.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to provide culturally-competent treatment services to diverse client populations.
• Requires valid driver's license, proof of current automobile insurance coverage, verification of safe driving record from DMV, and ability to meet LWNW driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create and support treatment plan goals tailored to individual client needs.
• Model recovery principles and support greater independence.
• Identify and utilize community supports to reduce dependence on traditional mental health services.
• Help clients develop wellness and recovery goals aligned with their aspirations.
• Share personal experiences to support clients when beneficial to them.
• Assist with goals in the individual's service plan.
• Support clients showing symptoms that could lead to hospitalization.
• Connect clients to community resources to enhance independent living.
• Assist clients in accessing resources like food boxes and healthcare appointments.
• Help clients maintain a medication regimen.
• Maintain confidentiality of treatment records.
• Educate and advocate for Peer Delivered Services and the Recovery Model.
• Check email/voicemail daily and respond within 48 hours.
• Use Feedback-Informed Treatment to obtain and review client feedback.
