Job summary

Valleywise Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist CERT to provide recovery-oriented peer services under the Clinical Coordinator. The role supports individuals, families, and communities through coaching, mentoring, and advocacy across settings including home, work, and community sites.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid AZ driver’s license, and a current Peer Support Specialist certification. BLS is preferred and may be required within three months.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Prior personal or professional experience working with adults with serious mental illness.
• Certification as a Peer Support Specialist through an ADHS/DBHS approved program.
• Must hold a valid AZ driver's license with current insurance.
• BLS card preferred and must be obtained within 3 months.
• Pursuant to AZ rules, must be at least 21 years old and speak/write English.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group peer support services to participants and families.
• Assist participants with navigating the service delivery system and accessing resources.
• Engage families to strengthen natural supports and recovery planning.
• Support recovery, self-determination, and informed decision-making.
• Conduct home, workplace, and community visits as appropriate.
