Job summary

Valle del Sol is seeking a Peer & Recovery Support Specialist to provide person-centered, recovery-oriented services to individuals in behavioral health treatment. You will work with clinical teams to promote engagement and overall wellness, using lived experience to empower clients in pursuing personal recovery goals.

Responsibilities include facilitating groups, delivering recovery education, performing thorough documentation, and supporting clients across GMH, SMI, OTP, and MAT service lines.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with behavioral health and/or substance use recovery and have successfully navigated services.
• Must be in stable recovery and/or wellness for a minimum of one year.
• Must be willing and able to appropriately share lived experience to support others in a professional peer role.
• 0–2 years of applied peer support, recovery support, behavioral health, outreach, or community services experience.
• 2–5 years of applied peer support, recovery support, behavioral health, outreach, or community services experience.
• 5+ years of applied peer support, recovery support, behavioral health, outreach, or community services experience.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating groups, mentoring peers, supporting specialty populations, or serving as a program resource.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and recovery-oriented services to individuals in behavioral health treatment.
• Facilitate peer-led groups and recovery education sessions.
• Document services and engagement activities in accordance with agency requirements.
• Collaborate with therapists, case managers, medical providers, and other team members.
• Promote engagement and continuity of care; support transitions between services.
• Assist with outreach to engage individuals facing barriers to care.
• Maintain compliant documentation and protect patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
