Job summary

The McLean Hospital Corporation seeks a dedicated Community Residence Counselor to provide direct support and supervision for residents in community-based behavioral health programs. You will help residents build daily living skills, achieve treatment goals, and maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Responsibilities include implementing service plans under clinical supervision, monitoring behavior, and engaging residents in therapeutic activities.

Qualifications

• Education must meet listed requirements and degrees preferred.
• Experience of 1-2 years in human services or behavioral health settings.
• Experience with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities is required.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily routines, medication reminders, meal preparation, transportation, and personal care as needed.
• Monitor resident behavior and provide interventions aligned with treatment plans.
• Document observations, progress notes, and incident reports accurately.
• Assist with development and implementation of individualized service plans under clinical supervision.
• Promote a trauma-informed, inclusive, and safe living environment.
• Engage residents in therapeutic, recreational, and community integration activities.
• Respond to crises using de-escalation and safety protocols and report to clinical leadership.
• Communicate with care team, family, and external providers as needed.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality assurance activities.
