Job summary

Phoenix House of New York seeks a dedicated counselor to join a values-based nonprofit focused on addiction recovery. The role provides individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and psychosocial interventions in a residential milieu.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, supervising milieu staff, and maintaining case records. CASAC credential and a minimum of two years in behavioral health are required; a 24/7 facility demands flexibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CASAC certification required.
• Minimum two years in a behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment program.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual counseling and treatment/recovery plan preparation, monitoring and review.
• Facilitates activities of daily living, community meetings, engagement, and treatment planning in milieu.
• Provides psychosocial interventions to teach coping skills and motivational interviewing techniques.
• Offers individual, group and family counseling, including multi-family group sessions.
• Maintains case records and assists in the medication room in emergencies.
