MedStar Health is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach for the Georgetown University Hospital site. The role provides non-clinical support to help patients recover from alcohol and drug-related issues, coordinating referrals and service plans to link patients to treatment services with appropriate follow-up.

You will work as part of a team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, supporting recovery initiatives and ensuring compliance with policies and standards while assisting in coordinating care

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Active personal recovery for at least 3 years with sustained abstinence.
• CPRS certification preferred or expected within 180 days.

Responsabilidades

• Act as peer support during hospitalization and post-discharge to help patients achieve goals.
• Serve as a resource to clinical team members on recovery support.
• Help patients link to community support and treatment services, including scheduling and transportation.
• Assist patients and families in understanding how to use community services.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Conduct brief interventions for patients who screen positive for alcohol or drug use.
• Consult with nursing staff or social work as requested, even if screening is negative.
