Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach to support patients in recovery from alcohol and drug use, both during hospitalization and after discharge. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to connect patients with treatment and community resources, maintaining clear documentation and follow-up.

The role requires strong listening and communication skills, empathy, and the ability to engage patients in their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active involvement in own recovery program with at least three years of sobriety.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical recovery support to patients during hospitalization and post-discharge.
• Assist in linking patients to community support services and treatment resources.
• Complete required documentation and coordinate with ED staff, nurses, and social workers.
