Job summary

Acadia Healthcare's Clarksburg Comprehensive Treatment Center seeks a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to support patients in recovery from opioid use disorder within an outpatient MAT program. This role emphasizes peer-led guidance, empowerment, and bridging between patients and clinical teams.

The ideal candidate has lived or professional SUD experience, HRSA/peer certifications, and a commitment to confidential, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Direct experience in SUD or related practicum through education or certification is highly preferred.
• Personal or professional lived experience in addiction recovery strongly valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to patients in recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.
• Engage patients at initial contact to facilitate screening for appropriate care levels.
• Advocate for patients and mentor them to promote empowerment and engagement.
• Share coping strategies and self-help techniques to support recovery and reduce relapse risk.
• Coordinate with clinical team and community resources to meet social needs and housing or employment goals.
• Document services clearly and update recovery plans per guidelines.
• Attend trainings and supervision sessions as required.
