Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare in Bowie, MD is seeking a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to support individuals in behavioral health and substance use treatment. You will draw on lived experience to help clients strengthen recovery, connect with community resources, and build lasting support systems.

You’ll work with clients, treatment teams, and community partners to encourage recovery and engagement, help with resources, and document progress while maintaining confidentiality and completing required

Qualifications

• Lived experience relevant to supporting individuals in recovery.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport and support individuals in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support using lived experience to encourage client recovery and engagement.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members and community partners to support client care and recovery planning.
• Help clients connect with community resources and develop ongoing support systems.
• Maintain contact with referral sources as directed and provide updates on client progress.
• Prepare concurrent reviews and communications with referral sources as assigned.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation of client and collateral contacts in the medical record.
• Participate in peer record reviews and quality assurance activities.
