Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health seeks a Peer Specialist to help individuals engage in their recovery journey by sharing personal recovery experiences and building supportive therapeutic relationships. You will help clients access resources, participate in treatment planning, and connect with community supports while maintaining ethical standards.

You will coordinate transportation, accompany clients to appointments, and provide crisis intervention as needed.

Qualifications

• Must self-identify as a present or former client of mental health/substance use services.
• Requires 1 year of direct experience with the mental health system.

Responsibilities

• Develop personalized treatment plans with individuals.
• Coordinate with referral sources and guardians on progress and plans.
• Schedule appointments and provide transportation to Recovery Services.
• Accompany clients to appointments when permitted.
• Assist clients in accessing medical services and document services per state/CARF standards.
• Provide crisis intervention and facilitate group education sessions.
• Support clients in building community connections and resources.
• Help clients set and achieve recovery goals through mentoring and advocacy.
