Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks a Peer Recovery Coach to provide non-clinical support, assist in referrals, and help patients build recovery plans toward independent community living.

Under supervision of a licensed clinician, you will collaborate with the treatment team, conduct outreach, document care, and connect patients to services while maintaining confidentiality and promoting recovery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred with recovery experience.
• Active engagement in own recovery program for 2+ years.
• Eligible for Maryland Peer Recovery Coach certification within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provides non-clinical peer support to patients with mental illness or substance use issues.
• Assists in referrals to treatment services and develops service plans.
• Acts as a peer support throughout hospitalization and post-discharge as needed.
• Models coping techniques and connects to community resources.
• Gathers information and facilitates access to services and transportation.
• Completes required documentation and reports for data accuracy.
