Job summary

Gavin Foundation, Inc. is seeking a Recovery Coach for the Worcester Region. The RC will provide peer recovery support to patients with substance use disorder and help them achieve sustained recovery. You will facilitate access to treatment, resources, and community recovery groups.

The role requires collaboration with the treatment team, outreach to recovery networks, and the ability to navigate multiple care settings while upholding confidentiality and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or HiSet required.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of confidentiality standards and HIPAA.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient with office software, databases, and client management systems.
• If in recovery from alcohol/other substances must have 2 years of continuous sobriety.
• Must be able to pass Massachusetts CORI and Drug Testing requirements.
• Strong advocacy skills and knowledge of community resources.
• Recovery-focused approach: recovery by any means necessary.

Position: Recovery Coach

Reports to: Recovery Coach Lead

Position Summary

The Recovery Coach (RC) will provide peer recovery support services to patients with substance use disorder (SUD) and will assist patients in achieving sustained recovery. This position will facilitate patient access to recovery-oriented substance use disorder treatment, resources, and community recovery groups.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serves as a liaison between the recovery community, the addiction treatment system, the medical treatment system, and the patient’s community, family, and social context to facilitate connections across systems of care
• Works collaboratively with treatment team to implement evidence-based services to patients with SUD
• Addresses barriers to successful recovery and serves as role model and advocate
• Conducts active outreach efforts to encourage attendance and participation in recovery- oriented, self-help, and pro-social groups
• Assists with access to treatment for SUD and co-occurring conditions, creating systems and procedures to rapidly identify treatment needs and determine appropriate level of care. Assists with data collection for quality assurance and program evaluation
