Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is seeking a Personal Service Coordinator in Long Beach, CA. The role supports outreach, assesses and engages potential members for MHALA ISC services, and helps them access needed programs through intensive case management.

Under supervision, you will develop Recovery Plans, assist with housing and benefits, and help members navigate services in the psychosocial rehabilitation model. Bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish speaking ability highly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Engage and enroll new members. Develop a Recovery Plan with each member.
• Mediate and advocate to help obtain housing, health care benefits, entitlements, etc.
• Visit members at home, hospital, or jail to support stabilization and prevent homelessness.
• Transport members to appointments and errands as needed.
• Provide coaching, counseling, mentoring, instruction and feedback on life skills.
• Devise outreach strategies for isolated members.
• Provide timely feedback to program manager on issues.
• Assist members and team in achieving community integration, education and employment goals.
• Participate in staff meetings and day-to-day program operations.
• Complete program documentation with 5 hours of interventions per day and 24-hour turnaround.
