Job summary

Options for Southern Oregon seeks a Peer Support Specialist who is a present or past client of mental health services. You will join the treatment team to support clients in regaining control over their lives and their recovery processes.

You will assist with goal setting, model recovery-oriented living skills, document changes, coordinate with clinical staff, provide transportation and daily living support, and connect clients to community resources while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary coursework preferred.
• History of mental health services and recovery experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to use email, compose documents, and learn to navigate an EHR system.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying recovery goals and interventions.
• Model and teach recovery-oriented living and coping skills.
• Maintain therapeutic relationships and refer to clinical staff when needed.
• Serve as liaison to community resources to enhance independent living.
• Observe and document behavioral changes and health conditions.
• Ensure safety and environmental monitoring; manage emergencies as needed.
• Maintain client charts and onboarding of appointments.
