Job summary

Pine Rest in Michigan is seeking an Engagement Specialist to promote patient engagement on inpatient units. You will help plan activities, encourage participation, and support a recovery‑oriented milieu while collaborating with the treatment team.

A high school diploma is required, CPR certification is expected, and college experience is preferred. The role is onsite with potential weekend/holiday hours and offers benefits including health coverage, retirement matching, and tuition support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, human services, recreation, or related field preferred.
• Experience facilitating activities and patient engagement programs.
• Must become CPR certified by end of New Hire Orientation (BLS in Inpatient; CPR/AED/First Aid in Residential).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and facilitation of unit-based activities to promote socialization and skill development.
• Support structured and informal activities (games, music, outdoor time, creative activities).
• Adapt activities to meet patients' needs and acuity levels.
• Facilitate recreational, educational, leisure, and patient engagement activities on inpatient units.
• Encourage patient participation and maintain a safe, respectful milieu.
