Job summary

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services is seeking an Engagement Specialist to promote patient engagement and meaningful activities on inpatient units. You will encourage socialization, skill-building, and therapeutic leisure, coordinating with the treatment team to foster a recovery-oriented environment.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, safety, and adaptability to varied patient needs, with opportunities to grow beyond entry-level patient care in a supportive behavioral health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, human services, recreation, or related field preferred.
• Experience facilitating activities, recreation, or patient engagement programs.
• Must become CPR certified by end of New Hire Orientation (BLS in inpatient; CPR/AED/First Aid in residential).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and facilitating unit-based activities to promote engagement and skill development.
• Support implementation of structured and informal activities (games, music, outdoor time, creative activities).
• Adapt activities to meet patients' needs across varying acuity levels.
• Facilitate recreational, educational, leisure, and engagement activities on inpatient units.
