Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County seeks a Records Technician to maintain program databases and electronic health records, perform data entry, document scanning, and ensure accuracy and compliance with grant goals. The role supports the Healthy Families Florida data systems, prepares reports, handles receptionist duties, and assists with special projects.

Experience with HMS/HFF databases and strong English communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• HMS/Healthy Management Services experience.
• HFF/Healthy Families Florida database experience.
• Ability to proficiently operate a personal computer for data and accompanying software.
• Knowledge of general office procedure and practices.
• Ability to prepare reports and correspondence.
• Ability to correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Ability to proofread data and typed material for errors and to make necessary corrections.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Data entry into program databases and EHRs; document scanning and import; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Produces HFF and other database reports; types correspondence; travel and special projects.
• Produces labels for documents that get scanned; performs Abuse Registry Checks; faxes; opens mail.
• Purchases program supplies using the state-issued P-Card or MFMP; follows PO rules.
• Acts as receptionist; answers phone lines; greets visitors; supports the Maternal and Child Health Division.
• Completes Special Projects including Parent Support Group materials.
• Meets with supervisor; participates in staff meetings; attends training for growth and quality improvement.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
