Job summary

Troy is seeking a Health Information Management professional to lead Release of Information activities under the Health Information Manager. The role supports timely responses, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across external and internal requests for patient information.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate degree or higher, RHIT or RHIA preferred, and at least two years of HIM experience. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required.
• RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in Health Information Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Appropriately obtains written authorization, request to access, or court order as required to release medical information.
• Receives, logs, and maintains a record of all requests from outside sources seeking information about patients.
• Assists patients and/or families with requests to release information or review/copy medical records.
• Responds to requests for information in accordance with laws and regulations; maintains required documentation.
• Maintains knowledge of hospital records to ensure proper release of information; prepares records for shipment and processes invoices.
