City of Detroit is seeking a Records Management Specialist to develop and implement a comprehensive storage and retrieval system for departmental records. Under supervision, you will guide staff and ensure accurate, secure handling of records across multiple locations in Detroit, MI.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least two years in records management with supervision, and a Records Manager certification preferred.
Under general supervision, develops and implements a comprehensive system for the storage and retrieval of departmental records and supervises the work of staff assigned to the records management function.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a field related to Records Management.*
Two years experience in the design and management of general or specialized records management systems including one year in a supervisory capacity.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be submitted to meet the education and experience requirements of this position.
The employee generally remains in a stationary position for an extended period of time operating standard office equipment which may include computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines. The employee is expected to move about to accomplish tasks such as opening file cabinets and moving files. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to (45) pounds.
