Job summary

Carvana in Heath, OH is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to oversee daily operations in the Inspection Center, directing 5 leads and up to 70 front-line associates in a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results.
• Strong analysis and decision making ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Ability to walk up to three miles each day.
• Requires standing for extended periods of time with various physical requirements.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Mentor and develop direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans aligned with the company.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that inspires positive communication and team cohesion.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Provide competency-based feedback to leads and associates.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team in meeting performance metrics.
• Engage the team regarding quality, production and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
