Job summary

Amcor is seeking a reclaim operator in Waxahachie, TX to process recycled plastics using reclaim equipment and support production operations. You will work with a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in daily tasks.

Responsibilities include operating reclaim machinery, loading materials, and upholding ISO 9001 standards while maintaining a clean, safe work area and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift.
  • Extrusion experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot extrusion equipment preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Job Description

As a reclaim operator you will be responsible for processing and recycling scrap plastic materials using reclaim equipment while supporting efficient production operations. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you’ll work closely with a dedicated team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your contributions directly impact our success.

Key Job Accountabilities

As part of the you’ll be responsible for… Responsibilities Remove scrap plastic from gaylords and process material through reclaim machinery. Set up, operate, and monitor reclaim equipment to ensure compliance with operating specifications. Ensure efficient and economical use of materials and help reduce wasteful practices. Unload trailers and stock packaging supplies. Maintain compliance with ISO 9001‑2000 departmental standards. Operate a forklift safely to transport scrap material. Follow all required safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, preferred. Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs. Must be able to drive a forklift. Extrusion experience preferred. Ability to troubleshoot extrusion equipment is preferred. Mechanically inclined. Experience in a teamwork‑oriented environment is a plus. Working knowledge of extrusion or converting equipment and processes desired. Manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively. Must be able to wear required PPE, including eye protection, hearing protection, and steel‑toe shoes. Must be able to frequently stand, stoop, and bend to pick up and move material within the reclaim area.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly. Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and material handling throughout the shift. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Work Environment

Production/manufacturing setting. Exposure to moving machinery, plastics, and moderate noise levels. Required use of PPE at all times.
