Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift.
  • Extrusion experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot extrusion equipment is preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to work in a team.
  • Experience with extrusion or converting equipment is desired.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively.
  • Must wear PPE and stand, stoop, and bend regularly.

Job Description

As a reclaim operator you will be responsible for processing and recycling scrap plastic materials using reclaim equipment while supporting efficient production operations. Reporting to theProduction Supervisor, you'll work closely with a dedicated team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your contributions directly impact our success.

Key Job Accountabilities

Responsibilities
  • Remove scrap plastic from gaylords and process material through reclaim machinery.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor reclaim equipment to ensure compliance with operating specifications.
  • Ensure efficient and economical use of materials and help reduce wasteful practices.
  • Unload trailers and stock packaging supplies.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 90012000 departmental standards.
  • Operate a forklift safely to transport scrap material.
  • Follow all required safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Must be able to frequently stand, stoop, and bend to pick up and move material within the reclaim area.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly.
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and material handling throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
Work Environment
  • Production/manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, plastics, and moderate noise levels.
  • Required use of PPE at all times.
