Job summary

Amcor is seeking a packing team member to support GMP and safety policies while performing quality checks and ensuring correct packaging, labeling and box quantities. You will operate packing lines, set up tape, box erectors, and label applicators in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safe handling, pallet stacking, and adherence to traveler instructions, with physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds and working around moving equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a team-work oriented environment a plus.
  • Knowledge of extrusion/converting equipment and process desired.
  • Ability to use and read a ruler.
  • Ability to read and understand a traveler.
  • Ability to document quality and weight on bag check sheets.
  • Language skills: read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals and checklists.
  • Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and support all Company safety, GMP and ISO policies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies.
  • Perform required quality checks and understand the quality standards.
  • Quality of the product.
  • Insure the correct boxes are used.
  • Insure correct labels are applied to the boxes.
  • Insure correct amount of product is placed in the boxes.
  • Insure correct product is placed in the boxes.
  • Reports bad quality product to Section Lead.
  • Maintain good housekeeping.
  • Reads “Traveler” – Bill of Materials (BOM) Checks special instructions.
  • Must pass electric pallet jack certification.
  • Work on lines, LD 98 & 9, AG Line & Fume Line Work in the Packing area, lines LD 3, 4 &12, lines HD 12 & 21.
  • Packing Area Set up tapers and change tape rolls.
  • Set up and trouble shoot box erectors.
  • Set up label applicator Safe operation of bin lift Safe handling of the bin gates.
  • Know pallet stacking formations for all orders.
  • In Line Packer Safely pulling of plastic and picking up scrap.
  • Help string up downstream equipment.
  • Know pallet stacking formation for all orders.
  • Safe handling of hand taper and replacing the tape roll.
  • Manual box making.
  • Operates winders Uses a J-Knife safely to cut and tuck product.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED, preferred. Experience in a team-work oriented environment a plus. Working knowledge of extrusion/converting equipment and process desired.

  • Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals and checklists.
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram or schedule form.
  • Basic PC knowledge.

Employee may reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend or twist up to 66% of the work shift.
