Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is seeking a caring Recess-Aide at St. Gerard Majella Catholic School to supervise students during recess and outdoor activities, fostering a safe, respectful, and faith-filled environment.

Under the direction of school administration, you will reinforce expectations, support positive behavior, and collaborate with teachers to ensure student well-being and spiritual development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with children in a school/childcare setting preferred.
• Ability to supervise groups of children attentively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, fair, and responsive in student situations.
• Practicing Catholic preferred; commitment to Catholic education required.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise students during recess and outdoor activities.
• Maintain constant awareness and engage with students during supervision.
• Ensure safe use of playground equipment and spaces.
• Respond promptly to injuries or safety concerns and notify staff.
• Reinforce school rules and promote kind, respectful behavior.
• Support faith formation and mission through daily interactions.
