Job summary

McFarland Clinic in Ames, IA is seeking a Receptionist/Patient Registration Representative for our North Ames office. You will be the first point of contact, answering phones, scheduling patients, collecting co-pays, and guiding visitors with compassionate service.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and a preference for medical-office experience. This part-time position offers weekend shifts and a $2.50 pay differential for weekend work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET required.
• Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical office.
• Keyboard and computer experience required.
• Completion of Medical Terminology class within one year of employment.
• Receptionist experience preferred, but not required.

Job description

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting application for Receptionist/Pt Reg Rep for its North Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsibilities include: answering phones, schedule patients, data input for insurance information, collect co-pays, and instructing of patients and visitors in accordance with McFarland Clinic’s Core Values and Promise.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or HiSET.

Days: 2-3 shifts a week (Mon-Fri), One weekend a month, Rotating holidays

Hours: Rotating M-F 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM. One weekend a month 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Rotating holidays 9:0 AM - 3:00 PM.

$2.50 pay differential if you work Saturday and/or Sunday. If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday ask for details.

Experience

• Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Keyboard and computer experience.
• Completion of Medical Terminology class required within one year of employment.
• Receptionist experience preferred, but not required.
