Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Receptionist for Gilbert Bain Hospital. The role supports frontline healthcare delivery and acts as a first point of contact for patients, staff and visitors.

Initial appointment is at Band 2 with progression to Band 3 upon competency; pro rata salary and Distant Island Allowance apply. Training provided; sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• Previous reception/secretarial experience desirable, in-house training will be provided.
• Must comply with Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers within 3 months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Support frontline healthcare delivery as a key contact for patients, staff and visitors.
• Operate at Gilbert Bain Hospital reception and coordinate resources as required.

The Gilbert Bain Hospital Reception serves as the first place of contact for visitors and patients but is also a vital service centre, providing essential support to the hospital and wider community teams. The department plays a pivotal role in ensuring timely responses, effective communication, and the coordination of resources.

Previous reception/secretarial experience and skills are desirable, however in house training will be provided.

• You will initially be appointed at Band 2 level (Salary range £26,696-28,988 per annum pro-rata) rising to Band 3 once successful completion of competencies.
