Job description

Shift Hours

Mon–Thurs 3–11:30 pm, 32 hours full time with additional hours available.

In This Role, The Receptionist Will
  • Answer all telephone calls promptly, politely, personally, and friendly, transfer calls appropriately and take messages when requested.
  • Monitor the emergency system, direct staff to emergent situations, call emergency personnel as appropriate and complete resident checks as needed for the desk.
  • Provide information to visitors and direct them to the appropriate individual, ensuring all visitors / contractors sign in and wear appropriate badges per policy and procedure.
  • Keep the reception desk and lobby clean and organized after each shift.
  • Facilitate transportation requests to appropriate staff, coordinate and communicate the timing of transportation to residents and staff, and place courtesy calls to residents to remind them of transportation trips.
  • Assist residents in signing up for programs and activities and collect payment.
  • Be knowledgeable about all office equipment, demonstrate use to other staff, monitor equipment, report supply needs and issues to the Lead Receptionist.
  • Sell postage stamps, receive packages and mail, sort mail, log packages, and inform residents / staff of packages to pick up.
  • Facilitate maintenance requests, input requests into the system, and communicate to appropriate staff urgent or emergent situations.
  • Complete monthly charge sheets in accordance with procedure.
  • Support other departments with clerical duties as assigned by the Administrative Services Coordinator.
  • Support the Lead Receptionist with clerical duties and maintenance of the reception area.
  • Balance the cash register/drawer, including cash receipts and checks cashed for individuals at the desk.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) in English.

  • Ability to remain calm in an emergency situation.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality when circulating general information.
  • Knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest in and desire to work with older adults.
Compensation Pay Range

$16.06 – $20.88 per hour.

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $16.06 – $20.88 per hour. Factors considered include job‑related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal and external equity.
