Job summary

Abraxas Youth & Family Services in Morgantown, PA is hiring a Receptionist for the Abraxas Academy campus. The role is full-time with a $21/hour pay and DailyPay available. You will be the first point of contact, greet visitors, answer phones, and provide general administrative support.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED plus 1 year office-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Driver's License.
  • Background checks and pre-employment screenings required, including TB & drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome visitors, clients, and employees on arrival.
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.
  • Maintain a tidy, presentable reception area.
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail and deliveries.
  • Maintain facility security and issue visitor badges.
  • Follow HIPAA and agency policies to protect client confidentiality.
  • Complete clerical tasks like filing, copying, transcribing and faxing.
  • Observe and document client behaviors and responses to interventions.
  • Report safety concerns to supervisory staff promptly.

What You’ll Do

The receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for everyone entering the facility. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering telephones and directing calls to appropriate party, and assisting with general administrative support functions of the facility.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Greet and welcome visitors, clients, and employees as soon as they arrive at the facility.
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable.
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail and/or deliveries.
  • Maintain office and facility security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges).
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing.
  • Accurately observes and documents client behaviors, and responses to interventions.
  • Reports safety concerns, incidents, or changes in client status immediately to supervisory/leadership staff.
  • Maintains client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and agency policies.
  • Follows all Pennsylvania mandated reporter requirements.
  • Maintains active certification, clearances, and required ongoing training.
  • Complies with program/facility safety systems and building security.
  • Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance with current departmental practices.
  • Supports the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care
  • Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Required
  • High school diploma or GED and minimum one (1) year office related experience.
Other Qualifications
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Physical exams include TB and drug testing.
  • Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm (including weekends)

Must be available to work weekends!

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active and engaged throughout an 8-hour residential shift
  • Ability to work in a secure, controlled-access residential facility environment
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to safety emergencies
